'M' Check for mature applicants

General

The Mature Age 'M' Check:

• is performed by a Registered Nurse
• generally takes about 15 minutes to complete
• may be conducted in a Medical Clinic, or at the applicant's home or workplace depending on location and availability of qualified Pathrec personnel.

As modern medicine and good lifestyle habits have assisted many people to live much longer, insurance is now being extended to older applicants as they get a second lease on life. The Mature Age 'M' check is designed for these older applicants, who are generally over 60 years of age.

Procedure

This test consists of a combination of:

• a Quick 'Q' Check (eg. height, weight, blood pressure, pulse and urine test)
• some basic memory/recall testing
• general lifestyle questions (eg. home situation, activity, mobility and independence)

Preparation

Applicants will need to drink at least two glasses of water prior to their appointment, to ensure they are well hydrated.
