X-Ray or Radiography

General

An X-Ray:
  • is performed by a qualified Radiographer
  • generally takes 15-20 minutes to complete
  • is conducted at a Medical Clinic
Procedure

X-Rays are the oldest and most frequently used form of medical imaging. An x-ray (radiograph) is a painless medical test that helps physicians to diagnose and treat medical conditions. Radiography involves exposing a part of the body to a small dose of ionizing radiation to produce pictures of the inside of the body. The chest x-ray is the most commonly performed diagnostic x-ray examination. A chest x-ray makes images of the heart, lungs, airway, blood vessels and the bones of the spine and chest.

Preparation

Normally there is no particular preparation required by the applicant prior to this test. Should there be any required, the applicant will be advised at the time of making the appointment.
"Pathrec has streamlined the whole underwriting process. Our clients aren't inconvenienced and the business is processed far more rapidly."
